This painting is the department shield for the Westfield Washington Fire Station #82’s, fire engine. The logo is appears on both sides of the fire truck. The painting is a depiction of a firefighter cross with a firefighter stepping through the flames of a burning fire.
The firefighters at Station #82 participated in the conceptual design and the final creation of the painting. The inspiration for the painting comes from witnessing a controlled training burn of an abandoned home. The firefighters were actively controlling and eventually extinguishing a house fire during a training exercise.
For me, it is truly an honor to create artwork for the use in the fire service. It is wonderful pleasure working with the firefighters both collectively and individually.
