Wendy Barrett thanked firefighters in New York City for their dedication and sacrifice the only way she knew how-through art.
Mrs. Barrett-spurred on by encouragement from local firefighter-had prints of her “Firefighters” collection made for all New York City fire departments who lost members on 9/11. Not only did she send the FDNY the prints, she also had local firefighters autograph each print individually.
It was noted that having thanks from fellow fire fighters is especially poignant. “‘It’s a way to say you’ve done a quality job,” Noblesville Fire investigator Rick Russell said.
